Montagne Jeunesse

OMG, finally a chance to sit down and unwind a bit! I'm so happy I got the wonderful VoxBox from Influenster because in it was the Montagne Jeunesse face mask in fruit smoothie. I see this pretty much every where I go, Walmart, K-Mart, Kroger, CVS... and I have always wanted to try it. It is very simple to use, and very relaxing.  I recommend just chilling in a bubble bath for 15-20 minutes. My skin felt refreshed and soft. It smelled good enough to eat as well! The Montagne Jenuesse face masks are all natural, and good for all skin types. I think next time I am going to try chocolate! It comes in so many different scents & varieties:
  • Cucumber Peel Off
  • Passion Peel Off
  • Dead Sea Mud
  • Fruit Smoothie
  • Strawberry Souffle
  • Chocolate Mud
Theses are wonderful little self indulgences after a hard day or cute little stocking stuffer's.. :)   I much enjoyed mine and will be getting more! Till next time! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! LOL

I received this product to test through Influenster’s VoxBox program

"What's Your Mentos Pure Fresh Moment?"

Since it is the holidays and all, there is food every where! There is yummy deserts to be made and had. My particular moment, just so happens to be in the kitchen making Strawberry-Coconut Parfait! There are yummy lady fingers, cheese cake pudding and strawberry galore spread out all on the kitchen counter. To keep my self from stealing bites, I just started to chew the Mentos Pure Fresh gum I received to test through Influenster's VoxBox program. It helped me keep on track with my calories, and my breath was minty fresh! Thanks to Mentos, I didn't kill my diet!!! :) www.mentos.com

A Little Fun this Season... Holiday VoxBox!

A Little Fun this Season... Holiday VoxBox!

A world without mail

I know this might sound like a silly post, but there is a point behind it. Today I was running errands, one of them involved going to the post office. I over heard a conversation where two post office clerks where nervously talking about loosing their jobs due to lay offs. In Kentucky there are some post offices that have shut down completely. That's not the case with this particular location, they are just slowing down.

The faster technology evolves, more things disappear. With mail, came e-mails; people rely on them more and more. I mean why not? They are quicker, cost less, and more efficient. With that being said, it is sad to see a world were less personal communication exist. Handwritten letters will be a thing of the past, collectable stamps gone and considered vintage. I remember writing my grandma from Guam and how exciting and that much more special it was to receive something special from far away. It seems like a lot is fading away. Books are being replaced with screens, cd's are now digital, maps are now integrated into smart phones with turn by turn directions... you get my point.

When my daughter is old enough and if it will still be possible at that point in time, I plan on teaching her to send an actual letter! Call me old fashioned but I will teach her to write in cursive (side note: I'm ticked at Indian for dropping that from their curriculum) And maybe, just maybe when she is a grown woman on her own, we may keep that as something special. (Even if it has to be fed ex'd) !!!!

I do plan on giving my honest opinions on this page, not just on stuff, but daily happenings, news and thoughts.

Diabetes, theres always a cure for type two!

http://news.yahoo.com/reduced-calorie-diet-could-beat-diabetes-four-months-164141607.html

If only it were that simple! I can't tell you how many times I have read, "Such & Such will cure Diabetes" only to discover it is based around type two! In type two diabetes the pancreas still makes insulin, the body just doesn't know how to use it. Most often it is triggered by stress, inactive lifestyle, or poor eating. So of course a change of life style will make a difference!

I have type one diabetes. Type one is cause by genetic factors, or sometimes even a cultural change. With this the body is completely unable to make insulin. I've had it since I was a kid... and there is no cure! Unless someone in the bio medical field comes up with a device that can not only make insulin, but also deliver it to cells with out having the immune system reject it... It's a long way off.

Type one and type two diabetes really need to be called two different things. While they both deal with the pancreas, type one diabetes can't be fix so easily because the body doesn't make insulin! In type two the body still makes insulin!!!! For people with type two there is still hope! Of course seeing a doctor is a must, but eating healthy and get moving will ultimately get the insulin that there body already makes where it need to be. I guess the only simple part of it is just take care of yourself.

How cool would it be to live on a completely different planet!

http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-telescope-confirms-alien-planet-habitable-zone-162005358.html

So, it's only 600 light years away... But it's a huge possibility of maybe one day living on another planet!  Kepler-22b, is very similar to earth, in size and temperature, but that got me thinking... Earth went through many different phases and changes, at what point would this particular plant be, if we actually found life? I've never believed in aliens one bit, okay let me clear this up... Aliens as in what media portrays them to be... but life that could be similar to what we see on earth; there is every possibility. The day that star trek, materializes and we boldly go to seek out strange new worlds will be amazing! We just need a brilliant mind to figure out how to traveling at the speed of light!

Gotta start somewhere!

Hello Word,
This is my first post, but I plan to keep it interesting! There is a lot more to come on this page,  just stay tuned!
